I guess I'm just not blogger material. This seems like a huge waste of time, cluttering up the internet with my thoughts. Very few people will read them, and I can count on one hand the number of folks who will care what I write. Plus, employers check these things to get a picture of what kind of person they're hiring. I'm not about to post something that could cost me a job in the future.
I'd delete this blog altogether, but they won't let me. Whoever "They" are.

What I learned this week
1. How to use a multimeter. Now I have to buy one.
2. What a computer's guts look like. We didn't disassemble the CPU, so I didn't get to see the hamster on a treadmill.
3. That Dianna is the best girlfriend that ever lived. I mentioned an item that I had been looking high and low for, and she went and found it for me.
4. How to tell the impedence strength of a resistor. Not very exciting to you, I admit; but an important part of my potential future.
5. That I can get free magazines. The catch is that they're industry journals.
6. On a calculator, you enter exponents by pushing the "EE" key. If your calculator has such a key, that is. The one you got from the $1 section at Target probably doesn't.
7. That a muscadine is sort of like a grape, and it's not easy to make jelly out of.
8. That calculator I found in the grass back in 1994 is in fact a TI-30 III. I still don't know what half the buttons do.

Look, Ma! I'm blogging!
Hi. How are all of you? Nice to meet you.
So, here it is: my very first blog. I didn't think I wanted to do this, but why not? If everybody else has a blog, then I need one too. I don't want to get left behind.
So, who am I? Nobody special. But if you're taking the time to read this, then I could at least make it worth your time and effort. So:
I'm a soldier. Or at least, I was. I retired from the Army this year, a fact that I am quite proud of. But the thing is, with retirees, there's no such thing as "leaving the service". You can be recalled to active duty if needed, although the nation would have to really need you. General Peter Schoomaker was recalled to duty earlier this decade to serve as Chief of Staff of the Army.
I'm a Texan, born and raised in the Dallas area (although I don't live there now). And no, we don't all wear Stetsons and say "yee haw".
I was born in 1969, a few months before the original Dodge Challenger was introduced (as a '70 model). And yes, I totally want one of the new ones.
I'm a student at Texas State Technical College Waco, in my first semester. I just finished the first week of classes, and so far it's interesting. If I survive the course, I'll have an Associate's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology and be able to land a good job somewhere. Wish me luck.
And finally, I'm a Christian. Many people don't feel comfortable talking about religion, and I'm one of them. I'm not one to preach. But I will say that my life has improved significantly since I was baptized last year.
So, you took the time to read this. What else do you want to know?
