Look, Ma! I'm blogging!

Hi. How are all of you? Nice to meet you.

So, here it is: my very first blog. I didn't think I wanted to do this, but why not? If everybody else has a blog, then I need one too. I don't want to get left behind.

So, who am I? Nobody special. But if you're taking the time to read this, then I could at least make it worth your time and effort. So:

I'm a soldier. Or at least, I was. I retired from the Army this year, a fact that I am quite proud of. But the thing is, with retirees, there's no such thing as "leaving the service". You can be recalled to active duty if needed, although the nation would have to really need you. General Peter Schoomaker was recalled to duty earlier this decade to serve as Chief of Staff of the Army.

I'm a Texan, born and raised in the Dallas area (although I don't live there now). And no, we don't all wear Stetsons and say "yee haw".

I was born in 1969, a few months before the original Dodge Challenger was introduced (as a '70 model). And yes, I totally want one of the new ones.

I'm a student at Texas State Technical College Waco, in my first semester. I just finished the first week of classes, and so far it's interesting. If I survive the course, I'll have an Associate's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology and be able to land a good job somewhere. Wish me luck.

And finally, I'm a Christian. Many people don't feel comfortable talking about religion, and I'm one of them. I'm not one to preach. But I will say that my life has improved significantly since I was baptized last year.

So, you took the time to read this. What else do you want to know?
